THE LIVING REVOLUTION

A specter is haunting Europe - the specter of permanent environmental destruction. All the powers of Old Europe (and every other country on the planet) have entered into an unholy alliance to perpetuate this specter and lie to the public about its effects.

The powers are always faceless but in the west we identify them collectively as the Corporate State. We know that when the Corporate State is allowed to function with unrestrained free rein, it grows and merges and controls, and eventually by its own natural evolution, with conquest as its only ethic . . . becomes a dictatorship.

The dictatorship of the corporate state controls the electoral process and selects the representatives that the public has been led to believe it has chosen.

The dictatorship controls and/or influences the major source of public information, the media.

The dictatorship has put our planet's most vital resources -- its water, air and land -- in what can only be described as a state of emergency.

The dictatorship structure of the so-called socialist countries rewards its hierarchy more with power, privilege and romantic rationalization than personal financial gain but the end result is pretty much the same. A manipulating media, an elitist political system, anthropocentric philosophy, a poisoned environment, and indigenous nations all over the globe denied sovereignty.

Dictatorship is tyranny, abolishing tyranny is the essence of revolution. Establishing true democracy and basic freedoms is the essence of revolution. A spiritual new birth is the essence of revolution.

The struggle between those who have and those in need will continue probably forever and the discussion of how best to achieve that balance, must continue, but now we are faced with an even more fundamental problem that must be addressed even before the question of ownership of production, exploitation of labor, and all the rest are debated. We have now achieved a level of alienation previous philosophers could never have imagined. An alienation from our very life support systems. A physical and spiritual alientation from the earth itself.

The revolution's goals are its means.

Living in harmony with the earth.

To this end revolutionaries of various economic philosophies, nationalist struggles, political persuasions, social classes, and cultural identities must put aside their differences and walk common ground.

   The revolution is not inevitable.

This is the one revolution that will not wait.

Solidarity,
Little Steven
